Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Career Start Program (funded by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET)) gives eligible Queenslanders access to a government subsidised training place up to and including their first post-school certificate level 3 qualification in priority training areas.

The Career Start Program subsidy for a course is paid to the training provider to reduce the cost of the certificate 3 course to the student. The amount of subsidy provided by the Career Start Program will vary depending on the demand for skilled workers in a particular industry and the needs of the student.

Courses We Offer

Imagine Education offers the below courses under the Career Start Program:

Eligibility Requirements

The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students) and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate III level or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.

Student Contribution

All students who enrol under the Career Start Program are required to pay a student contribution fee unless you have received credit for that unit by providing a Statement of Attainment or Record of Results; or you are a Queensland year 12 graduate who will enrol in an applicable course and commence training within 12 months of completing year 12 (that is, by the end of the calendar year following completion of year).

Refund

for Career Start Program students only

If you cancel your course prior to its completion, you are applicable for a refund of the student contribution fee for any units you have not commenced. This is calculated by adding all unit student contribution fees for any non-commenced units. To receive the refund, students are required to complete a Refund Application Form, which is located on the Imagine Education Australia website. All refunds are processed within 28 days of receipt of the refund.

Complaints

Imagine Education Australia has a Complaints and Appeals Policy. This is available on the Imagine Education Australia website and in the Student Handbook.

On Completion

Students will be provided with a qualification and Record of Results on successful completion of the course. Under Career Start, an individual may access up to two subsidised training places through a general qualification at certificate III and an apprenticeship/traineeship, noting that if the apprenticeship/traineeship is done first, the individual is no longer eligible to access a general qualification under Career Start. If you do not complete the whole qualification, you will be provided with a Statement of Attainment. Students will be required to complete a short survey within 3 months of completing or discontinuing their course.
