The Higher Level Skills Program (funded by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training) gives eligible Queenslanders access to a government subsidised training that will offset the cost of a Certificate IV or Diploma Course in priority training areas.

The Higher Level Skills subsidy for a course is paid to the training provider to reduce the cost of the Certificate IV or Diploma Course to the student. The amount of subsidy provided by the Higher Level Skills Subsidy program will vary depending on the demand for skilled workers in a particular industry and the needs of the student.

Imagine Education offers the below courses under the Higher Level Skills Program:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students) and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate IV level or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.

STUDENT CONTRIBUTION

All students who enrol under the Higher Level Skills Program are required to pay a student contribution fee unless you have received credit for that unit by providing a Statement of Attainment or Record of Results.

REFUND FOR HIGHER LEVEL SKILLS STUDENTS ONLY

If you cancel your course prior to its completion, you are applicable for a refund of the student contribution fee for any units you have not commenced. This is calculated by adding all unit student contribution fees for any non-commenced units. To receive the refund, students are required to complete a Refund Application Form, which is located on the Imagine Education Australia website. Requests for refunds are processed within 28 days of receipt of the refund.

COMPLAINTS

Imagine Education Australia has a Complaints and Appeals Policy. This is available on the Imagine Education Australia website and in the Student Handbook.

ON COMPLETION

Students will be provided with a qualification and Record of Results on successful completion of the course. Students will no longer be eligible for a government-subsidised training place under the program once they have completed this qualification. If you do not complete the whole qualification, you will be provided with a Statement of Attainment. Students will be required to complete a short survey within 3 months of completing or discontinuing their course.
