Overview

This further qualification enables you to explore your potential as a leader in the early childhood context. The course duration is 32 weeks inclusive of up to 240 hours of practicum. If you already have a Certificate III in Children's Services, you may wish to upgrade to this Diploma. On completion this course you may wish to seek employment as a Qualified Group Leader or Family Day Care Coordinator, or elect to continue on to the Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services, or a University degree in Education or Community Services.

Imagine Education offers local Gold Coast students our Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care course. The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so, they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

Students and apprentices studying the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care course have access to Imagine's child care centres which are on-site at our Main Campus for real-world training in a child care environment.

NOTE: Students studying this course are required by law to obtain a Blue Card for working with children.

 

Entry requirements

Students need to be 15 years old and are required to have reading, writing and comprehension skills equivalent to Year 10 pass level to successfully complete the Certificate level courses.
